All roads lead to Tatooine
The last episode of The Book of Boba Fett is the worthy conclusion of a series that was needed. Well developed and with many references that fans of the saga cannot fail to grasp, the events of Boba Fett are initially described following a double temporal strandOn the one hand, during a recovery period in Bacta’s tub, Boba relives his memories starting from the moment he managed to save himself from Sarlacc. On the other hand, the former bounty hunter tries to fulfill his role as Daimyoformerly occupied by Jabba the Hutt, and restore order to the streets of Tatooine, not without strong political opposition.
In the past timeline, Boba Fett is integrated into a population of Tusken, with whom he befriends with mutual benefits. During an absence of her due to the collection of a tax from the Pykes, the Tusken are exterminated and, upon her return, Boba finds himself in front of a pile of rubble and corpses. While trying to vengeance meets for the first time Fennec Shand, with whom he begins a solid collaboration.
In the current temporal strand, the couple tries to eliminate the oppositions and benefit Tatooine, opposed by the mayor of Mos Espa and by other leading exponents of the local political forces, who continue to traffic in Spezia and get rich, leaving the cities poor and in ruins. The series becomes more dynamic in the last 3 episodes, where characters seen elsewhere come into play. Boba Fett is, in fact, preparing for war and in need of allies.
The first to return to the scene is Din Djarinthe Mandalorian protagonist of The Mandalorian, the series in which Boba Fett himself reappeared. Also Grogu makes his appearance, committed to undergoing Jedi training under the master’s guidance Luke Skywalker, but still fondly attached to Din. Help is asked, then, a Cobb Vanth, former owner of the armor who has now returned to Boba Fett, an uncompromising sheriff against injustice. The foundations have therefore been laid for the grand finale of The Book of Boba Fettwhich takes place in the last episode.
With Rancor blows
The final episode is adrenaline and action packed. Every fact recounted in previous episodes of The Book of Boba Fett converges in the final battle to restore peace to Tatooine. The alliances formed by Boba Fett during his (so far short) role as Daimyo prove invaluable in countering the Pyke armies, including the Rancor that the Hutt twins had given to the former bounty hunter, and who grew up seeing him as the point of reference, ready to obey him.
The fall of the Tusken who had welcomed Boba into the desert comes back to life when their backstories are revealed, as does the feared bounty hunter Cad Bane, formerly responsible for the defeat of Cobb Vanth and, now, intent on killing Boba Fett. In implying that Boba is at least as merciless a killer as he and the Pykes, Bane states: “the Quacta that gives the Stifling something slimy “before positioning himself for the duel.
Battles and alliances follow one another for all 61 minutes of the episode, focusing on various characters, on the weapons used and on the fearsome machines fielded by the Pyke, which only the Rancor, Din and Grogu could, perhaps, knock out. The episode seems to lay the groundwork for a new season from The Mandalorianas little Grogu has decided to abandon training with Luke, don Din’s armor and join the battle alongside him.
In addition, even a second season of The Book of Boba Fett it could be well structured and follow these first 7 episodes, although the series hasn’t been able to hold on to just Boba all along.
