The countdown begins
The month of June is now upon us, and with it the most awaited event of the season is getting closer and closer: on Saturday 15th, in fact, the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe, with three classes competing for victory in their respective categories. Among these, the ‘new’ and rich LMGT3, in which the WRT team with two BMW M4 GT3.
The #46 of the ‘Doctor’
For the occasion, the Belgian team wanted to while away the wait by presenting the special liveries of cars #31 (of Augusto Farfus, Sean Gelael and Darren Leung) and #46, which will take to the track with different colours. The first, mainly white-red, is a tribute to the 1977 BMW ‘UFO’, while the second recalls the Valentino Rossi helmet (who will share the car with Ahmad Al Harthy and Maxime Martin) with blue, yellow and white inserts.
For the ‘Doctor’, moreover, it is about the first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Manswith the nine-time world championship champion enthusiastic about being able to face this new challenge in his career: “I’m looking forward to the 24 Hours of Le Mans because it will of course be the most important race of the year – he declared to the media – last year I had a very good time with the circuit de la Sarthe. I had only driven there before on the simulator, but it was a bit boring because there are long straights, whereas in person it is very exciting. You’re always above 240-250 km/h up to 300, so the circuit is nice. I really want to see what happens. June will be a very important month because there will be the two most famous races, namely the 24 Hours of Spa (June 29th and 30th in the GT World Challenge) and Le Mans: two 24 hours two weeks apart, so physically it will also be tough, but we hope to get there ready.”
