Hungary|Hungary is looking for the passengers of a small motorboat after Saturday’s accident.
Two one person has died and five are missing when a small motorboat and a cruise ship collided on the Danube north of Budapest in Hungary late Saturday, reports news agency Reuters.
According to the Hungarian police, a large number of rescue personnel were still searching for the missing on Sunday. According to the police spokesperson, there were eight adult passengers in the motorboat at the time of the accident.
The accident was reported on Saturday evening when a bleeding man was found on a nearby road. It was clear from the man’s words that he had apparently been involved in the accident.
The police eventually found the damaged motorboat and the bodies of a man and a woman. The cruise ship that was in the area at the time of the accident had continued its journey to the city of Komárom.
Reuters says that he saw a Heidelberg ship sailing under the Swiss flag in Komárom with big dents.
A group of Chinese tourists got off the ship on Sunday. One of the tourists told the news agency that he was not aware of the collision.
The Hungarian police have launched an investigation to determine the possible culprit in the accident.
