Delmastro, dispute with the FdI mayoral candidate in Biella? He denies it
New controversial episode after the New Year's Eve shooting? Fto discuss in Biella the news reported in the local press, of a violent argument bordering on a brawl that would break out between the undersecretary for justice Andrea Delmastro and the mayoral candidate of Fratelli d'Italia in Biella, Marzio Olivero. A very high-profile argument (to the point that Delmastro's escort should have also intervened) and which would have had as its backdrop an electoral self-financing dinner.
This is what Corriere della Sera writes today: “The undersecretary for justice would have arrived after dinner had already begun, while the appetizers had already been served and the guests, about a hundred, were all seated. And, at that moment, according to the story of a party sympathizer, he wanted to speak with Oliviero, candidate chosen during a summit of the coalition formed by FdI, Lega and FI, about a decision taken without his consent.”
“According to those present, it was the appointment of an auditor of the Cassa di Risparmio di Biella Foundation taken by Olivero, the current municipal councilor”, continues the Corriere della Sera. “Around the undersecretary of Justice also the escort led, since after the Pozzolo case, by Domenico Mentana who took Pablito's place Morello. Delmastro, according to the story of some present, was evidently angry. The reason? Not having been consulted for the choice, given the role of contact for the Biella area of FdI. So much so that Oliviero's name as a candidate for mayor is questioned.”
The reconstruction was denied by Olivero who speaks of a “misunderstanding” and claims that the argument was actually a joke. The Piedmontese senator of Italia Viva Enrico Borghi doesn't think so and writes on his Facebook profile: “So the taxpayer pays the escort to Undersecretary Delmastro to protect the internal accounting regulations of his party? And the style of the FDI house in Biella is that of coming close to brawls and threatening each other, after the well-known events of Rosazza? And would this be a man of government?”
Even Delmastro himself denies it, as we always read in the Corriere: “I don't know why these things are said. Let alone arguing at a convivial dinner where we were presenting our candidate. Olivero and I were just joking, like you do with football. The other night we also did it with politics. I wonder what some of those present understood.”
