Yamaha presented the MOTOROiD 2, a revolutionary evolution of his project that aims at the integration between man and machine. It is a motorcycle with two steering wheels and capable of driving autonomously, radically changing the way you drive understand driving on two wheels.
Yamaha no longer just wants to create motorcycles that satisfy the style and performance needs of those who ride them. The goal is build intelligent motorcycles, capable of riding together with the rider. When the first version of the MOTOROiD, it seemed like a science fiction idea. Today, with artificial intelligence permeating every aspect of our daily lives, the MOTOROiD 2 concept appears as the motorcycle of the future, an inevitable evolution.
The Jin-Ki Kanno philosophy behind MOTOROiD 2
We are no longer simply talking about vehicles, but about human machine interface. Yamaha follows the philosophy Jin-Ki Kannowhich means “to provide users with seductive euphoria tried when they become one with their machine.” MOTOROiD 2 represents this concept, transforming the way we interact with motorcycles.
Technology and innovation
To realize this concept, a great deal of technology is required. MOTOROiD 2 can recognize its owner, remove the easel and move independently. L’Active Mass Center Control System (AMCES) manages self-balancing, while the image recognition system allows the motorbike to interact with the rider, recognizing expressions and gestures.
Innovative design
In addition to its advanced interface, MOTOROiD 2 is radically different from traditional motorcycles. It is powered by an electric motor integrated into the rear wheel, and the swingarm, in addition to acting as a shock absorber, allows the rear wheel to steer. This movement is controlled by the bike’s AI, adapting to the rider’s wishes.
The battery pack, positioned behind the front wheel, is also mobile, contributing to the dynamic set-up of the bike. Everything is coordinated by AMCES, which transforms the driving sensations.
A new way of conceiving the motorbike
The steering system is completely innovative. There isn’t a real handlebar, but two appendages on the sides, which seem to be integral with the frame. This suggests that the guide might be based on one combination of pilot input, such as the shift weight and head position.
In summary, MOTOROiD 2 is not just a new motorcycle, but a new way of conceiving the motorcycle itself. And you, are you ready to ride the future?
