Weather|During Midsummer week, Finland falls on the path of low pressure, so sunshine and torrential rains alternate.
Midsummer you should pack both rain clothes and sunglasses for the cabin. According to the current forecast, depending on the location, there will be varying degrees of both rain and sun, says Foreca’s on-duty meteorologist Ilkka Alanko.
The week of Midsummer starts on Monday with rainy signs throughout the country, but temperatures can rise to high levels.
On Monday, however, increasingly moist and warm air will flow into Finland from the south. The temperature rises widely between 20 and 25 degrees.
It will be warmest in the eastern parts of the country, and the temperature limit may be exceeded. In the rest of the country, temperatures are at their highest in the 20s. In the northern parts of the country, temperatures remain around 16–20 degrees.
Thunderstorms can occur especially in the western parts of the country.
On Wednesday More showers are coming from the west, and the weather is still unsettled across the country. Temperatures are 16–21 degrees throughout the country.
The highest temperatures can be enjoyed in the east, where the rain showers are not widespread. Thursday, on the other hand, looks a little more dusty than the beginning of the week.
Temperatures will drop towards the weekend. According to current forecasts, temperatures in the south will remain around 18–22 degrees, but in central Finland the temperatures will remain on both sides of 15 degrees. Western Finland, North Ostrobothnia and North Karelia are likely to remain around 12–13 degrees.

Local hailstorms and changeable weather will continue over Midsummer, with sunshine and hailstorms alternating. On Friday morning, the rains will recede, but there may be isolated hailstorms locally.
“However, it doesn’t look like there will be rain areas that remain in place until the end of the week,” says Alanko.
Temperatures will remain lower than at the beginning of the week, and in the event of a rain shower, it may even feel cool at times.

It very much depends on the region, says Alanko.
“It’s a bit difficult to predict wildfire warnings in advance, so before lighting a fire, you should check the warnings in force in your area,” Alanko reminds.
