Civil protection issues yellow weather alert for Veneto and Lombardy: sunny and rising temperatures in the rest of Italy
Tomorrow, Sunday 16 June, the Civil Protection issued a weather warning yellow for some sectors of Veneto and Lombardy due to the persistent hydrogeological and hydraulic risk. The weather warning map for tomorrow is almost entirely green, with the exception of these two regions of Northern Italy where the rain leaves no escape.
According to weather forecasts, this afternoon a modest disturbed pulse will pass through northern Italy which will cause instability especially in the central-western mountain areas and partly in the foothills. Showers and thunderstorms are expected, but with a low risk of intense phenomena. In the mountains, particularly in the Belluno area, variability is expected with the possibility of isolated showers or thunderstorms, but with less probable and smaller phenomena.

The Regions at risk for tomorrow are Venetowith critical issues due to hydraulic risk in the Basso Brenta-Bacchiglione, Adige-Garda and Po sectors, and the Lombardy, with hydrogeological risk in the Valchiavenna, Lario, western Prealps and Bergamo Orobie sectors. The situation is due to the persistence of high levels along the Adige river and along the embankment body in Lombardy. During the weather alert it is important to avoid staying in underpasses, in areas at risk of flooding of the Seveso and Lambro rivers, under trees, near construction site scaffolding, outdoor areas and tents. You should also pay attention to atmospheric phenomena during outdoor events to prevent dangerous situations.

Despite the bad weather in some areas of the North, the rest of Italy is preparing for a summer weekend, with temperatures in line with the averages for the period or slightly higher. Next week, however, an African heat wave is expected which will bring high temperatures across the entire country.

Heat flare-ups with temperatures above 35-36°C, with peaks of up to 40°C in some areas of Puglia and in the internal areas of Sicily and Sardinia, as well as in Lazio and Umbria. Even on the northern plains, values of up to 30/33°C will be reached during the afternoon.
