Third in the morning, sixth in the afternoon. All this while his teammate was at the top of the timesheets. The Imola Friday by Carlos Sainz it wasn’t perfect, but the Spanish rider still found it many positive sidesi on the first day of activity on the track of the Emilia-Romagna GP, crucial for Ferrari especially for the verification of the updates introduced on the SF-24. Sainz’s analysis
“A good Friday for the whole team I would say – Sainz underlined at the end of the day – in the first session I was competitive and in the second we made some changes that I think went in the right direction to the point that I can say I’m reasonably happy with the car“.
“I wasn’t able to put together a clean lap on the Softs – the Madrilenian then explained, thus justifying his sixth place in the ranking – but I’m comfortable and that’s what matters most. After two Sprint weekends it was nice to be able to go back and try different configurations of the car, especially given the fact that we had a robust package of updates to check out. There is still some work to do before qualifying but I can’t wait for tomorrow“, he concluded.
