Senator Karasin expressed distrust in Zelensky’s words on the issue of negotiations
Russia should not trust the statements of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about his readiness to begin peace negotiations on certain conditions, says Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, he spoke about the politician’s words.
“All his numerous statements are very inexpensive. We need serious politicians with whom we can continue to negotiate. And when Zelensky talks about the need to hold another world summit, it sounds, of course, lightweight,” he said.

Vladimir Zelensky, at a press conference following the peace summit on Ukraine in Switzerland, said that Kyiv is ready to begin negotiations with Moscow “tomorrow.” To do this, he said, Russia must respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
He also announced the next summit. In his opinion, it will take place in the coming months. The head of state noted that Russia’s very presence at the next peace conference would mean “readiness to end the war.”
The event took place on June 15-16 in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, with the participation of 101 delegations from different countries and international organizations. The final document was signed by 84 delegates – 80 countries and 4 organizations.
