PlayStation continues – now at a slightly faster pace – releasing games on PC. This time it was the turn of another PS5 title to jump into the “master race” so that we can begin to compare where it looks best. Who are we referring to? Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.
First of all, we played in a certainly noble configuration: 11th generation Core i5 with 16 GB of RAM and a 3060 at full HD. I mean, we’re not aiming for 4K. And so on, let’s just say it’s a modest option with some bigger benefits if we had a 16 or 20 series chipset in roughly the same range.
Now, we are talking about a collection of remastered games in the full extent of the word. They are PS4 titles with enough improvements to shine on a PS5, but does it work on PC? Or better return it? (at this point it would be impossible to do it because Steam’s policies are certainly closed and that’s another story).
We are going to see again the latest Nathan Drake story, is there any point in buying it? Is it a game that sucks resources? This and other questions will be answered in this review of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for PC… The PS5 Review is over here.
It’s demanding, but for your hard drive
Let’s start with the most basic details without getting into the nailed down issues of frames per second and such. What do you need to be able to play Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC? Look, at first glance, the first parameter is not so stained if you have been with a PC dedicated to gaming for a long time.
Minimum (you know, it will run at 720 and 30fps)
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor: Intel i5-4330, AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- Memory: 8 GB of RAM (it is not healthy to run Windows with so little)
- Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 960 (4GB), AMD R9 290X (4GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 126GB
Recommended (Full HD and 30 fps or rather stable)
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Intel i7-4770, AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
- Memory: 16GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 (6GB), AMD RX 570 (4GB)
- DirectX: Version 12
- Storage: 126 GB of available space
Yes, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is heavy and that’s not so great if you don’t have enough storage space. We could say that it is too much, but, it is for something.
Iron Galaxy to port Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection to PC
As we mentioned, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is a port of a PS5 collection of a couple of games remastered from a PS4 version. Elaborate? Of course! Must have been the ports we needed? Obviously not! It was necessary to start with the Nathan Drake Collection, but that was perhaps a different challenge.
Now, there are good and bad things. The correct, Iron Galaxy – those who worked with Killer Instinct on Xbox One at the time – made foolproof menus, it has very clear options such as the use of DLSS and AMD FSR which is pretty cool because there is support for both graphics cards. The bad thing is that there are also some very brief actions and that they don’t allow you to get very deep into the functions, for something it is proof of people who don’t know how to get their hands on the games.

The first thing the game tells you is not to play the genius, load the shadders. Depending on the processor it may take a while. It’s worth doing it, because if not, your machine is going to suffer, the fans are going to sound nice and nobody wants it. It is not that you are going to burn the computer, you are only going to wear it down unnecessarily.
An additional detail is that one thing was the pre-launch version and another the day one. Let’s say there was an additional patch that better controlled certain scenes at the start of the game. No more sudden drops in frame rate. I mean, it wasn’t that the video card wasn’t high-end.
We also recommend: Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection already has a release date on PC
How does Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection run on PC?
This collection of Uncharted games is not that you need to run at 60 frames per second, because 30 is fine, but as they say: “the more, the better”, right? Now, back to the same thing, what do you want? quality or performance? It is not always possible to have both, especially when it comes to a port of a console game that jumped to PC.
In a “modest” configuration like the one we were using, we find that Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection can generate good reflections and shadows on Ultra without punishing frames per second as much. Come on, there is goodness of running the game in an average greater than 60fps.

Ideally, you should look for a high texture setting, quality mode, high shadows, medium or high reflections, and also medium or high ambient occlusion, this with what would be the equivalent of a 3060. It’s worth noting that DLSS 2.0 does the trick when it comes to delivering a higher refresh rate. If you have a monitor that supports it, go ahead. Take advantage of it.
Let’s say once again they manage to make a pretty good port of games that came out several years ago, that take advantage of new technologies and from which we didn’t expect much. As simple as that. Iron Galaxy did a good job, but also, perhaps the task was not titanic.
Should you buy Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC?
If it happens that you don’t have a PS4, much less a PS5, and you’re getting to know the PlayStation franchises, then go ahead, it’s a safe investment that you’re going to enjoy, especially since Iron Galaxy’s work with this port has been good. Come on, we didn’t expect less because it wasn’t a native PS5 project jumping to PS4 either.
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection was not meant to be the collection of Nathan Drake story games to arrive on PC. However, the development of Iron Galaxy was very good and the gaming experience is enjoyable as long as you have an up-to-date mid-range or high-end rig. There is no doubt that the titles in this collection are of very high quality and are worth enjoying on PC. Perhaps in this way, PlayStation will be encouraged to bring its franchises to this platform faster.
