At Planalto, they must sign acts of partnership and discuss initiatives to combat hunger and poverty and reform UN governance
The president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) meets this Thursday (May 23, 2024) with the president of Benin, Patrice Talon, at Palácio do Planalto. At the meeting, they must sign acts of partnership between the countries, in addition to discussing issues relating to technical cooperation in the sectors of agriculture, energy, culture, tourism, trade and investments. According to the Planalto Palace, the PT member must also deal with initiatives to combat hunger and poverty and the reform of UN (United Nations) governance. Talon’s visit takes place a few months after the reopening of the Benin Embassy in Brasília, in February. On Wednesday (May 22), Lula received credentials from ambassador Boniface Vignon, authorizing his work in the country.
