Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will initially be released without the English dubbingwhich will be added later via patches. Then the game will have Japanese dubbing with subtitles in the selected language. Illustrating the news was the actor / YouTuber Yong Yea on X, who briefly explained:
“Since we are just a few weeks away from the release of Like A Dragon: Gaiden and many may not know it, I think I should tell you that the English dub will not be available from November 9th, the day of launch, and will be added with a post-launch patch (without yet an official date).”
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be released on November 9, 2023 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. It will also be available from launch on Game Pass, Xbox and PC. The game will include a demo of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which will release on the same platforms during 2024.
Kiryu’s story
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name tells the story of Kazuma Kiryu who decided to pretend to be dead and disappear to protect the people he loves, as told by the director of the Ryu Ga Gotoku development studio Masayoshi Yokoyama. According to him, fans will like it because it will allow them to better understand Kiryu’s personality. We’ll see.
