Kyodo: Japanese Parliament will create a commission on UFO issues
The Japanese Parliament will create a cross-party commission on unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and unidentified aerial phenomena. This is reported by Kyodo.
“Parliament intends to require the government to create a body that brings together specialists on UFO issues. If unidentified aerial phenomena turn out to be some kind of secret weapon of other countries, then this could pose a threat to the security of Japan,” the material reports.
The agency notes that the commission will be headed by former Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada, and the speaker will be former Environment Minister, son of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinjiro Koizumi. According to the authors of the material, this indicates the “seriousness of parliament’s intentions.”
The material reports that the new commission will be officially created on June 6.
On May 28, Japanese Defense Minister Minoru Kihara announced an attempt to launch a North Korean spy satellite, which ended in failure. The DPRK tried to launch the satellite on May 27 at 22:43 (16:43 Moscow time). An evacuation warning was issued for the southern Japanese prefecture of Okinawa after the alleged launch. It was canceled after the rocket disappeared over the Yellow Sea a few minutes later.
