The case had caused controversy, for a dessert passed off as what it wasn’t which cost a 22-year-old suffering from various allergies dearly. Anna Bellisario he loses his life because of a non-vegan tiramisu, which was sold as such. She trusted her because she was allergic to lactose and eggs. Inside her, however, there was some mascarpone. The producers of this dessert have settled and will have to pay a negligible amount.
Anna Bellisario she had gone out to eat with her boyfriend in a restaurant in Milan, where they also served vegan food. It was February 2023. She had ordered the Tiramisum for dessert, a tiramisu that was supposed to be vegan. Therefore do not contain any food of animal origin.
The young 22-year-old, in fact, was severely allergic to lactose and less so to eggs. She had trusted that product but it caused her one anaphylactic shock which led to her death after a few days of hospitalization.
According to the investigations by prosecutor Luca Gaglio and the deputy Tiziana Siciliano, the young woman lost her life on February 5 last year, after 10 days in a coma, due to the anaphylactic shock caused by that dessert.
As emerged from the investigations, in fact, the desserts were prepared in the manufacturing company “vegans and non-vegans in the same environment, at the same time on the same table“. There was, therefore, one heavy contamination between preparations of animal origin with ingredients of plant origin.

The two agreed to a one-year plea agreement, with a sentence that was converted into a fine of 10 thousand euros each. The preliminary hearing judge Cristian Mariani accepted the plea agreement, revoking the interdictory measure because there was full compensation for the civil parties. The company would now be in compliance with all legal obligations.
