Recently, FromSoftware revealed that Elden Ring It had already exceeded 12 million copies sold worldwide, a figure that definitely took us all by surprise. We knew that the game was being a real success in different markets around the planet, but we never imagined that it would be such a big deal. In fact, not even its own developers saw it coming.
Via Twitter, Daniel Ahmad, analyst of NikoPartners, shared several interesting facts around the sales figures of Elden Ring. Among this information, he mentioned that FromSoftware anticipated that the game will reach 4 million copies sold by the end of this month.
Some additional context for 12m in 17 days:
– Dark Souls 3 took over 4 years to reach 12m.
– From Software originally projected Elden Ring would sell 4m units by March 31.
– Fastest selling game from a Japanese publisher (excl. Nintendo).
– Lower than current my death count

In the same way, he mentions that, beyond the games of Nintendo, Elden Ring It has been the fastest selling Japanese title in history. And so that you understand a little more the magnitude of their sales, Dark Souls III reached 12 million units sold four years after its release.
editor’s note: It’s certainly impressive that a game like Elden Ring is doing so well. FromSoftware titles tend to be quite challenging experiences, and actually offer very few accessibility options for new users.
