Ahmed Al-Mansoori, Executive Director of the Television and Radio Sector at Dubai Media Incorporated, said that the establishment’s pavilion participating in the “World Media Congress”, which will be hosted by the capital Abu Dhabi during the period from 15-17 November, confirms the corporation’s keenness on the distinguished interaction in the workshops, pavilions and the exhibition to highlight The reality of the local media and its development.
This came during a brainstorming workshop for broadcasters and media professionals in the Corporation organized by the Dubai Media Incorporated in preparation for participation in the World Media Congress in Abu Dhabi next November. It was attended by Ahmed Al Mansouri, Executive Director of the Television and Radio Sector at Dubai Media Incorporated, Ali Obaid, Director of the News Center in the Corporation, and nearly 50 media professionals.
The participants in the brainstorming workshop presented basic ideas that include the need for a media lab that incubates Emirati talents, and the establishment of a mini-museum that illuminates the role of radio and television and its development between the past and the present through images, audio clips and collectibles, in addition to presenting interactive workshops and debates and focusing on foreseeing the media future, new media and means of communication. The proposals also formed ideas to attract university and school students, to employ artificial intelligence in the pavilion, and to use Hall and Virtual Reality.
The director of the news center in the Foundation, Abdullah Obaid, said that coordination meetings were held for the various media organizations, as everyone showed their eagerness to contribute to the success of the event.
He stressed that the experience of the cadres in the institution came up with unconventional ideas based on their previous experiences in covering media forums, adding that the door to participate in ideas will remain open to receive more of them, expressing his optimism to come up with proposals to build it outside the framework of traditional participation.
The Director of Marketing in the Publishing Sector at the Foundation, Khadija Al-Youssef, said that the workshop was organized in the context of the Foundation’s readiness to participate in the “World Media Congress”, noting that they came up with a number of important ideas that reflect the uniqueness experienced by Dubai in various sectors and fields, including the local media.
She stated that all the views presented will be collected and formulated to adopt qualitative initiatives and ideas for the purposes of representing the institution in a distinct way, along with a large number of local and international institutions and media agencies, pointing to the formation of a committee within the institution to develop a plan and discuss ways and agenda for action on the Congress during its three days of convening, saying: We seek exceptional participation by all standards, whether in terms of coverage or live participation of our cadres in sessions, workshops, exhibition, forum and all accompanying events in the event, which takes a global turn rather than locally.
