When he realized that his family had turned their backs on him, Romeo let himself go and was waiting for nothing but a quick death.
What we tell you today is the story of Romeo, a wonderful 7-year-old pit bull mix that lost all its brilliance when, one sad day, he found himself abandoned by his family in a cold and uncomfortable kennel box. He was so dejected that he collapsed and did nothing more than staring at the wall in front of him. His fate, however, was about to change forever.
Many believe that animals do not have a soul. All of this is absolutely false. Just look at the transformation this puppy has had.
His story began when he arrived at the home of what he thought was his forever family. In fact, after only two months, in which he had grown fond of those people anyway, he found himself alone and abandoned in a New York kennel.
From a cheerful and joyful dog, Romeo turned into a sad and dejected dog who hoped for nothing more than to die soon, to put an end to all his pains.
But Kelcy Kimmerer, a volunteer at Second Chance Rescue NYC, thought absolutely differently. She approached him, pampered and cared for him and promised to find one for him loving family as soon as possible.
Romeo’s new life
All of Kelcy’s commitment found an initial confirmation when, after a few weeks, one temporary adoptive family stepped forward to bring Romeo home.
For some time things have been going well. The puppy was smiled again and to be the lively and happy dog he once was. But all of this wouldn’t last too long.
In fact, that family, they couldn’t keep Romeo forever, so they have it taken back to the refuge.
After a few days, however, the light came on again. And it is once and for all. An adoptive family has come forward for to adopt the puppy forever.
Today Romeo has a new home, a new family who loves him and even a canine little sister, Porsha, who wants to spend the whole day with him. That sad and dull face has finally rekindled itself to never go out again.
