Luca Ghiotto is the first driver confirmed for the 24h of Daytona as standard bearer of G-Drive Racing by APR.
The Russian team has announced in the last few hours that it will collaborate again with Algarve Pro Racing to take part in the entire 2022 season of the FIA WEC, also entering two LMP2s in the first round of IMSA.
One of the Oreca 07-Gibson will see the 26-year-old native of Arzignano at the wheel, who will be at the first experience in the United States in this series, finding the wheel of a prototype after a couple of years in the GT and on the F2 single-seaters.
“I am very happy to announce that I will race the 24h of Daytona 2022 with G-Drive Racing by APR,” said the Venetian, who recently took part in a test at the Algarve to prepare for the brand new Stars and Stripes adventure.
“For me it will be the first 24h ever of my career, in addition to returning to the USA from the days of karting! I can’t wait to be on the famous ‘banking’ in two months!”
The race in Florida is in fact scheduled for the weekend of January 29-30, preceded the week before by the usual Roar Before the 24 tests.
