Two weeks after the Natisone tragedy, two boys were overwhelmed by the Brenta flood: one clung to the branch of a tree
Under the dismayed eyes of those present, two weeks after the Natisone tragedy, another dramatic event occurred on the banks of the Brenta. Two men aged 34 and 46, in an attempt to cross the river, were overwhelmed by the strong current and risked being dragged away by the force of the water. This time the rescue was decisive, as well as immediate.
Fortunately, one of the young people managed to reach the shore, while the other desperately clung to a log. The alarm, launched around 2pm today, June 15, triggered the operational machine in case of emergencies. The firefighters of the Cittadella detachment, a SAF (Alpine Fluvial Speleo) team from Padua and the Venice helicopter with divers on board intervened promptly on the scene.
Thanks to the prompt and coordinated action of the rescuers, both boys are safe. One of the divers on board Drago 149 recovered one of the boys from the trunk where he was clinging, while the other was taken directly from the helicopter that landed on the river bank. The police also intervened on site to coordinate the rescue operations. The operation ended around 4pm.
Fear and tension they dissolved into a sigh of relief when the two young people touched dry land. Once again, a peaceful excursion to enjoy the beauty of nature was about to turn into a nightmare. The story ended with a happy ending, thanks to the courage and promptness of the rescue workers. The lesson to be learned from this episode is to always give your best Attention and caution when dealing with the forces of nature, which can prove unpredictable and dangerous.
Public opinion is still mourning the death of the three boys who died due to the flooding of the Natisone river, of which one still remains missing.
