Red Bull Racing presented the 2023 season today in New York. Together with the team, the livery that will wear the RB19s of the 2-times world champion Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, a driver who arrived in his third season as a starter with the Milton-based team, was presented Keynes.
The news, however, did not involve either the car or the livery. The car used, as well as the coloring is exactly the same as last season, with the small exception of the presence of new sponsors such as Castore, Sparco and RokT.
Max Verstappen himself, during the presentation, stated: “The livery is practically the same as in the last 2 seasons. The new features that the car presents… I can’t go into specifics, obviously…”.
A mammoth presentation, especially in terms of duration, which had the announcement of the partnership with Ford as its final icing, which will start in 2026.
Christian Horner, team principal of Red Bull Racing, was the first to speak: “It’s special to be here, in New York, in America, where we will race 3 GPs this year. It’s great to see how the United States is appreciating the “F1. A new, younger fanbase is coming in and it’s fantastic what is happening here. For Max it was fantastic to win in Miami and to win the Constructors’ Championship in Austin, on the weekend Dietrich Mateschitz passed away, was extraordinary.”
“Mateschitz created who we are. Determination, desire, goals. We have exceptional support from Red Bull and we think the 2023 season can be even more beautiful than the previous ones”.
“We expect Ferrari and Mercedes to be competitive and other teams can make significant improvements. We will see all the new cars in a couple of weeks, but the season will be very long. We know there will be ups and downs, but we will have to hold on and ride the wave of last year, continuing on the path traced”.

“Both Max and Checo have been able to show excellent performances. They have been an important part of our success. We have recharged our batteries to be ready for the next season which will start shortly. We have two fantastic drivers, who have really done a great job in 2022. Exceptional job. We think we have the best driver duo we’ve ever had in F1. We know our rivals will close after our dominant season, but we’ll have to be ready.”
“We have learned all the lessons from 2022. The regulations are stable, so there are no huge changes compared to last season. But we think our RB19 could be our best car ever”.
Max Verstappen, fresh 2 times world champion: “It’s fantastic to be in the United States, considering how many races we will do here. Being here today is fantastic, we are optimistic for 2023, we think we can defend our titles”.
“It was great to get 2 titles. When you’re little you hope to become a Formula 1 driver first, then win the title. It’s amazing to think that I managed to get what I hoped for as a child. But now my goal is to improve even more. Nobody is perfect, I always ask myself what I can do better and I will try to be stronger than last year.”
Net U-turn by Verstappen as regards the presence of Netflix with Drive to Survive. Up until a few months ago, the 2-time world champion had openly criticized the presence of television cameras. Now, however, he seems to have changed his mind.
“For sure Drive to Survive has helped bring people closer to what our world is, to see how we live, behind the scenes, what’s going on. It’s definitely something that brings people to us.”
Sergio Perez, in his third season as a Red Bull driver, added: “There is a lot of support for our team in the United States, then we will race three times here this year and it is a privilege to feel all this support”.
“It will be a more difficult challenge, we have to be stronger than last year and it will be a great challenge, because we were very strong in 2022. But the season will start soon and we think we are ready. It will be a very long season, I introduce myself with batteries recharged”.
“It’s fantastic to be back in Red Bull,” said Daniel Ricciardo, back in Red Bull after 4 years spent between Renault and McLaren. “I go back there in the second part of my career and I meet many people who were there before. I have many good memories. I hope to help develop the car, work on the simulator and help the general team in the best possible way. I hope to contribute”.
“I was happy for the team, which won 2 titles last year. The beginning of the year was very nice, with the good duel with Ferrari. Then in the second part of the season it was domination and I have to to say that seeing it from the outside was impressive.”
