Fresh off the podium and close to victory on Sunday, Enea Bastianini was back on track this morning for the first of two days of testing at the Misano circuit. The Gresini team rider completed 32 laps, the quickest of which in 1’31 ”741, which allowed him to reach the lunch break with the fifth fastest time. “Bestia”, however, stopped about an hour and a half before the end of Day 1, satisfied with the work done during the day.
Work has been done in the Ducati House with a view to 2023, in anticipation of Bastianini taking his place in the official team, in the garage next to that of Pecco Bagnaia. For this reason, the Gresini rider had the opportunity to try a new frame, which he promotes while believing that some work still needs to be done to perfect it: “We tried the new frame that we will certainly use in 2023 and I would say that it went pretty well”.

“It has strong points, as well as the old frame”, continues Enea speaking of today’s novelty. “It is not yet 100% in place, I think that Pecco is also working on it, so we have to try to work on these two things”. However, Aeneas is convinced that some good steps have been made on this first day.
But the work is not finished and at the end of the first day of testing Bastianini is very satisfied: “I’m happy, we did a good test. We’ll have another morning tomorrow. We got some good information, but I think we’ve taken another step forward. In the end I was a bit tired and despite having lapped with used tires I did a 31. Here at Misano we have always been competitive, now let’s see the next one ”.
