Yesterday, the Yemeni army announced that 11 people were killed and a number of wounded during the operation to open the Marib-Al-Bayda road, during operations to clear and open the road that faced attacks by the Houthi group.
Major General Khaled Al-Ashwal, Head of the Operations Authority of the Yemeni Army, confirmed that these sacrifices come within the framework of the forces’ belief in the necessity of opening all roads to the Yemenis, and their right to move freely without restrictions.
Al-Ashwal stated, during the Operations Authority’s celebration of the graduation of a number of specialized courses, that the Armed Forces, represented by the Department of Works and the Department of Engineering, participated 4 months ago, and in conjunction with the initiative to open roads announced by a member of the Presidential Command Council in Ma’rib Governorate, Major General Sultan Al-Arada, in rehabilitating, paving and surveying. Roads and preparing control points to prepare roads and facilitate the crossing of Yemenis and alleviate their suffering.
Al-Ashwal pointed out that opening the Marib-Al-Bayda road represents an inherent right for every Yemeni, and that the army forces will continue their efforts to achieve this goal until all roads are opened, whatever the sacrifices.
Meanwhile, the official spokesman for the Taiz Military Axis, Colonel Abdul Basit Al-Bahr, confirmed yesterday that the Houthi group had not opened the “Al-Hawban-Al-Kamb” road, which it announced its intention to open, for the third time in a row.
