The Civil Police of São Paulo (SP) is investigating the death of a 24-year-old young man. Leonardo Nunes was shot on Thursday night (June 13, 2024) in Vila Natália, a neighborhood located in the south of the capital of São Paulo.
Before the murder, Nunes went on a date arranged on a dating app aimed at gay people. The police are investigating whether Leonardo was a victim of homophobia.
According to the police report, the victim had arranged a meeting via an app on Wednesday night (June 12), and shared where it would be with a friend.
On the day of the meeting, after not responding until the agreed time, which would be around 11pm, the friend filed a missing persons report at the 5th Missing Persons Police Station of the State Department of Homicide and Personal Protection.
The Public Security Secretariat reported that the young man was rescued in the Emergency Room of Ipiranga Hospital, but he did not resist and died. Exams were requested from the Criminalistics Institute and the IML (Legal Medical Institute).
