The Danish rider Mads Pedersen, from the Trek, won the third stage of Paris-Nice. The sprinter led the pack at the end of the race and set a time of four hours, 23 minutes and 29 seconds.
At the end of the ride, the Frenchman Cristophe Laporte, of the Jumbo-Visma, leader of the general, suffered a fall in which the Colombian Nairo Quintana was almost involved. Fortunately, the fall was not serious.
Molano, from the UAE Emirates, came in at 10th place; Quintana, from Arkea, arrived from 25; and Daniel Felipe Martínez, from Ineos, was 37.
The final sprint and the fall
After the third stage, Quintana is in position twelve in the general classification, 39 seconds behind Laporte, the leader.
With the same time, Daniel Martínez is in 18th place.
Juan Sebastián Molano is 21, 53 seconds behind Laporte.
The fourth stage proposes this Wednesday an individual time trial between Domérat and Montluçon, on a demanding 13.4 km route that includes some climbs, such as the initial one in Les Bregettes (1.2 km at 4.6 percent) and the one that leads to the goal, from 0.8 km to 7.
