They arrest a woman who stabbed her 3-year-old daughter to death in Miami

A Jamaican mother was arrested on charges in South Florida (USA) after allegedly stabbing her three-year-old daughter to death, authorities reported Tuesday.

Jellisa Amoya Baxter24, stabbed her little daughter to death this Tuesday morning in North Miami Beach and “she was taken into custody without resistance and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse,” the Miami Beach Police Department said on Twitter.

According to the arrest report published by the authorities on the same social network, the agents who came to the scene found Baxter in the living room of his apartment and the girl’s body near her.

Baxter told police officers who responded to his call that she herself “strangled (her daughter) initially, but when that didn’t work, she stabbed her in the chest and neck.”

The report states that the girl had “several deep stab wounds to her chest, neck and face.”

According to authorities, officers located the murder weapon near the body of the girl, whose identity has not been released, nor the reason for the homicide.

The woman is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade, reports Local 10 News.
