A driver who refused to let a bus carrying special forces through was beaten in Tbilisi
In Tbilisi, a car driver was beaten by security forces after he refused to let a bus carrying special forces pass as it tried to drive in the oncoming lane. It is reported that several men got out of the vehicle and attacked the driver. Activist Nikolai Levshits stated this in Telegram-channel.
He said that the incident happened in the center of the capital of Georgia. “At the moment, the victim has sought medical help, and human rights activists and the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman are dealing with his application,” the activist said. According to Levshits, before beating the driver, the security forces put on balaclavas.
Earlier, law enforcement officers in Georgia detained several people at a spontaneous protest in Tbilisi. After the arrest of opposition blogger Uchi Abashidze for illegal possession of weapons, his supporters tried to block Chavchavadze Avenue in the Vake district.
