San Pedro del Pinatar will dedicate three days to history and mystery within the framework of International Book Day, with a program of activities and the participation of prominent authors such as Aldo Linares, Carlos Largo and Pablo Villarrubia, among others. Organized by the San Pedro del Pinatar City Council, the cycle includes seven presentations and one conference-performance and all of them will take place at the Casa de Cultura, at Calle Alcalde Julio Albaladejo, 16, and attendance will be free upon reservation via WhatsApp at the 695 265 269.
They start on Friday, April 21 with the live broadcast from the Casa de Cultura, at 11:00 p.m., of the Onda Regional de Murcia program ‘El Último Peldaño’, directed and presented by Joaquín Abenza, who will also act as director and presenter of the event. ‘El Último Peldaño’ has been broadcast continuously on the regional channel for 32 years and is one of the most recognized programs in the field of mystery. Abenza is a collaborator of ‘Cuarto millennium’.
The program for Saturday, April 22, will start with a conference-performance by the magician Miguel de Lucas, where “attendees will have the opportunity to discover that we all have a better version of ourselves capable of doing the most impossible things,” advances the illusionist. «An experiential conference far from meaningless positivism, and which highlights the importance of believing in oneself by discovering the greatest of mysteries: the human being himself». Miguel de Lucas is the presenter of the TVE program ‘Un País Mágico’, broadcast by La 2, and is a National Magic Award winner in the mentalism category. After his intervention, he will sign his book entitled ‘There is a magician in you: discover your inner magician’.
Then Carlos Largo and Aldo Linares will take part, both very popular for their collaborations with the program ‘Cuarto millennio’ by Iker Jiménez, on Cuatro. Linares, a member of the Hepta research group, will talk about ‘The occult of the afterlife’ and will sign his book ‘When the suggestive becomes evident’. Largo, a “seeker of impossible stories”, is also a journalist and has been editorial coordinator in the program ‘La Mesa del Coronel’, in Cuatro, as well as the author of ‘At the beginning of darkness’, which he will sign after his presentation entitled ‘The light and the dark of the mystery’. On Saturday afternoon, the 22nd, Miguel Pedrero, author of some twenty works and one of the managers of Ediciones Cydonia, as well as a reporter for ‘Espacio en blanco’, on RNE, will talk about ‘UFOs: messengers of global consciousness’. Pablo Villarrubia, a tireless traveller, will discuss ’21st century UFO files: from secret military reports to Pentagon revelations’, and will sign the book ’21st century UFO files’. As a closing, the doctors María (‘Witch passport. The rationalization of the mystery in imperial Spain’) and Laura Lara Martínez (‘Mysteries and fake news of the History of Spain’) will participate jointly.
On Sunday, April 23, Gregorio León will offer the conference ‘How a crime novel is cooked’ and will sign his work ‘The last trip of Miranda Grey’, recognized with the 2022 National Police Novel Award. León is a journalist for Onda Regional and has five novels published.
To close the event dedicated to history and mystery, Joaquín Abenza will offer a talk focused on San Pedro del Pinatar, entitled ‘The mysteries of the Baron’, and will sign ’50 magical places in the Region of Murcia’.
