A few days from the death of Queen Elizabeth the days of mourning and pain continue for the death of the longest-lived queen in the history of the United Kingdom.
Very few people other than family members have been able to get to know her in a more intimate way. One of these was his secretary and spokesperson Dickie Arbiter. He is definitely one of those people who has experienced Queen Elizabeth’s world up close.
Dickie a few hours after death accepted an interview with Republic where he revealed several anecdotes. He told of the first meeting with the queen in 1988.
“I was paralyzed and I don’t remember the few sentences I allowed myself to say. At one point, I turn off and get ready to wash the dishes. But a voice says to me: ‘No, wait!’. Who was she? The Queen Elizabeth! She who she said to me: ‘I wash the dishes, you dry them’. And so we did. Wonderful” – he revealed.
Dickie said he was convinced the queen liked her. No one allowed him to speak directly to the queen, in case she was the one to do so.
“If you looked into her eyes, yes, you recognized her unmistakable humor. And above all, she treated everyone equally “ – the confession of his secretary.
