In St. Petersburg, police carried out a migration raid on markets after a man was kidnapped
In St. Petersburg, police conducted a large-scale migration raid on local wholesale markets. About it reported press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region.
During the inspection, law enforcement officers checked more than 350 people. Of these, 49 migrants were taken to police departments and brought to administrative responsibility for violating the rules of stay.
It is noted that the raid was a response to the abduction of a man by citizens of one of the Central Asian states. The victim was a man from a third country. “Having forced the victim into a car, the attackers drove him towards Pulkovo Heights, where they beat him, took away his phone and personal belongings, and withdrew 55 thousand rubles from his bank card,” the department said. A criminal case has been initiated into the incident under Article 162 of the Criminal Code (“Robbery”). Police detained two 20-year-old suspects in Murino. The nationality of the detainees is not disclosed.
Earlier in St. Petersburg, two citizens of Tajikistan were accused of kidnapping four migrants and extorting money from them.
