The Murcian Óscar Castro Reino will continue one more legislature at the head of the General Council of Dentists of Spain after having obtained 57 votes of the 67 issued by the Official Colleges of Dentists in the vote held on Friday in the Ordinary Assembly. Castro took office this Saturday along with the rest of the executive committee.
He is accompanied by Francisco García Lorente as Vice President, Agurtzane Meruelo as Secretary and Joaquín de Dios Varillas as Treasurer. Óscar Castro thanked the support received and highlighted the achievements made in the previous legislature, such as the fact that, for the first time, an item from the General State Budgets was earmarked for the expansion of oral health services.
Castro assured that there are still pending objectives to be met, “such as continuing to defend our skills, fighting intrusion and professional plethora, fighting for a health advertising law and the approval of dental specialties, developing the Dental Patient Safety Observatory and continue promoting educational campaigns”, reasons why he has once again presented himself as a candidate for the presidency.
