The British manufacturer Morgan certainly has an ace up his sleeve: maintaining the traditions of the past even in the modern era. This is in fact the impression given by a suggestive video published on Youtube by the same car company, which show the whole factorywith the workers who work essentially by hand on all aspects of the car, thanks to the images filmed by a drone.
The Morgan brand was founded in 1909 in Malvern, UK, but moved to its current Pickersleigh Road site as early as 1914. The structures therefore have 108 years of continuous use in the automotive field. Certainly the factory is no longer the same as it was at the foundation: the site has expanded slightly over the years and has been changing mainly internally, both in terms of furniture and technologies. But we must not forget that this is essentially a half-miracle, given that there are so many British brands that have disappeared since the mid-1950s. Still others have linked up with foreign multinationals, such as Jaguar. There was also the shame of Rover, a glorious brand that became Roewe by the Chinese hand.
The video follows the same path shown to visitors to the plant, in the tens of thousands a year until before the Covid pandemic. The tour begins in the original 1914 workshop and winds its way through all the production areas of the factory, which are housed in several buildings perched along the hill. We then move on to the area of the frames, assembly, joinery and painting.
Despite the presence of large manufacturers and their impressive arrangement of automatic machinery for the production of automobiles, there is still room for independent houses like Morgan. In particular, the British brand continues to offer cars characterized by extreme lightness and classic lines, thanks to a loyal circle of customers who love the British tradition.
