Bloomberg: Macron’s party reacted with anger to the dissolution of parliament
French President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to dissolve the National Assembly has sparked anger and chaos within his Renaissance party. About it reports Bloomberg, citing sources.
In particular, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and Chairman of the National Assembly Yael Braun-Pivet opposed this decision.
A senior official who served in various ministries under Macron said the president’s decision jeopardizes some of France’s international priorities, such as efforts to combat climate change. The diplomat said Paris was desperately pushing the EU to reach as many deals as possible this month.

One MP from the president’s party said he was upset at the prospect of dozens of their colleagues losing their jobs because they could not stand for re-election. According to him, they are afraid to speak out, fearing that they will be called traitors or cowards.
On June 9, Macron announced the dissolution of the lower house of the country’s parliament, the National Assembly, and called early elections, the first round of which will take place on June 30.
