The death toll from India’s monsoon landslides has risen to 189 in the Wayanad region of Kerala. Heavy rains have sent torrents of mud that have devastated tea plantations and villages, destroying bridges and homes. The search for bodies and possible survivors continues, but hopes of finding anyone alive are fading. The area, once known for its picturesque plantations, is now almost completely destroyed.
