This comes at a time when supporters of former presidential candidate Nikki Haley, despite her withdrawal from the Republican race, have become an obsession for Trump’s election campaign, noting that Haley announced that she will vote for him in the American elections.
Both Trump and Biden face strong opposition from within their parties, with the latter having difficulty convincing uncommitted voters to join his camp, while Trump still sees thousands of Americans voting for his long-defeated rival, Nikki Haley.
This was evident in the election results in Kentucky, where Trump obtained 85 percent of the votes, but it seems that the ghost of Nikki Haley is still haunting him, as more than six percent of voters voted for her, even after she left the presidential race.
Among the Democrats, Biden mobilized more than 71 percent of the votes, but 18 percent of them went to non-committals, with nearly 80 percent of the votes counted.
Protests against Biden
Recently, movements supporting the non-committal voting option organized several protests rejecting how Biden dealt with the Gaza war.
These groups contacted tens of thousands of voters by phone to persuade them not to vote for the US President.
What’s more, prominent Democratic lawmakers also supported the movement, including former presidential contender Beto O’Rourke and former Ohio Senator Nina Turner.
Regarding this issue, American political advisor Robert Cahaley said to the America Today program broadcast on Sky News Arabia that people in the primary elections cast their votes for their preferred candidate, and that some people’s vote for Nikki Haley does not mean that they made a mistake. They know that Haley withdrew and now she is supporting and endorsing Trump.
The danger of non-conformists
He added that there is a wide segment of Democratic voters who did not vote for Biden, and this means that they will not vote for him in the elections in November, and in contrast, most Republicans will vote for Trump because he received more than 80 percent of the votes.
He considered that not voting for Biden poses a danger to him, and continued, “What happened in Kentucky and Oregon shows that all voters who support the Republican Party will vote for Trump, but on the other hand, the matter is different because there are people who are not committed, and they do not say that this is a temporary decision, but rather that it may last until the end.” November”.
He pointed out that things are clear in the Republican Party. Nikki Haley said that she will support Trump and vote for him, and she may have an important role in other positions.
For his part, Dennis Jeff, the Democratic strategist, considered it important for Trump to have Haley’s support, as he is known to love the support and approval that comes to him, whether it is praise or donated money, or if they say they prefer him, even though Trump criticized Nikki previously, as she made statements about Ukraine that he did not like. He/she is now in a position to support and strengthen him/her.
He pointed out in his speech on the America Today program broadcast on Sky News Arabia that Biden has a major challenge in attracting certain social segments, and he will face difficulty in it, such as young people.
Dennis continued, saying: “I think what makes more sense is that Oregon and Kentucky do not represent the entire country. Perhaps I might look at other states to see if they influence the potential results more in the presidential election, because if we look at what happened with Nikki Haley, 6 percent is the percentage.” which she acquired.”
