After four seasons in Indy Lights, in 2020 Dalton Kellett joined the team owned by the legendary AJ Foyt to compete in eight races, before becoming the starting driver of the number 4 Chevrolet in 2021. The Canadian’s best result was a 12th place overall. World Wide Technology Raceway, while the best placement in road races was an 18th place at Barber Motorsports Park and in Race 1 in Detroit.
The 28-year-old has also renewed for 2022 with the same team: “I am thrilled to be back with AJ Foyt Racing for the 2022 season. We look forward to starting the year and continuing in the wake of 2021. I am grateful for the opportunity to get back to the number 4 Chevrolet. AJ, Larry, our team partners and K-Line have made this possible and I thank them very much ”.

Kellett, a Queens University graduate in physical engineering, hails from Toronto, but has lived in Indianapolis since he began competing in the Road to Indy Series category in 2014. The 28-year-old Canadian will be team mate with 2021 Indy Light champion Kyle Kirkwood. but AJ and Larry Foyt continue to consider the possibility of a third driver, starter or not.
Sebastien Bourdais, who raced full-time for the team in 2021, is shifting his priority to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, driving one of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Cadillacs, but remains interested in occasional racing with Foyt.
