The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat announced the issuance of new amendments to the decision on the Hajj and Umrah system, which includes provisions related to practicing the activities of organizing Hajj and Umrah trips, licensing procedures, and fines related to violations that may be committed by individuals, campaigns, or relevant offices. The decision aims to regulate the affairs of Pilgrims and the performance of Umrah rituals, and the necessary controls for granting licenses for Hajj and Umrah campaigns in accordance with the rules and regulations in force within the jurisdiction of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat.
The most important amendments to the decision include imposing an administrative fine of (50) fifty thousand dirhams on anyone who exploits the services and facilities designated for the Office of Pilgrims Affairs for the United Arab Emirates in the Holy Lands or while performing rituals without obtaining a permit from the Authority. The decision also requires obtaining a license from the Authority. The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat before undertaking the activity of organizing Hajj or Umrah trips or organizing replacement Hajj or advertising, in addition to prohibiting receiving Hajj or Umrah requests or collecting donations for Hajj or Umrah without a license from the Authority.
It is noteworthy that the UAE Pilgrims Affairs Office is considered the official representative of the state during the Hajj season, and it provides and ensures the quality of services provided to the country’s pilgrims, communicates with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on matters related to the affairs of UAE pilgrims during the Hajj season, and follows up on the performance of the companies undertaking the campaign headquarters in the Holy Lands. .
