From the streets of Dortmund to the stadium this afternoon you could see a red river before the match between Italy and Albania at the European Football Championships in Germany. From the early hours of the afternoon, the celebration of the Eagles fans began as they invaded the streets of the German city waving flags of all types and sizes. There are many Albanian cars in circulation dressed to the nines, with loud music and intermittent horns.
Festive atmosphere, even if evidently someone wanted to ruin it: the German police in fact stopped 67 Italian ultras, before they managed to come into contact with the Albanians near a restaurant. They were found in possession of knives, balaclavas and paper bombs. But they may be released soon. The fans, coming from northern Italy and Rome, will presumably be reported for the possession of various objects capable of offending and the paper bombs they had with them together with the balaclavas, but from the investigations of the German police, still in progress, no elements would have emerged to contest other crimes.
On the other hand, probably also thanks to the fact that the ultras were intercepted by the Digos “spotters” before the match, neither attacks nor clashes occurred in Dortmund, and therefore no elements emerged that would allow them to be detained and charged.
