Printed newspapers are the means that voters trust most when it comes to finding out about politics
A survey released by Datafolha shows that São Paulo residents trust professional media outlets more than social networks to find out about politics and elections.
In total, 49% declare that they fully trust what is published in printed newspapers, while 11% partially trust and 38% do not trust. Here is the trust in other professional media outlets:

Among social networks, X (formerly Twitter) is the best placed, with 31% fully trusting what they read on the platform.
Although social networks do not have as high levels of trust as professional media, the platforms’ reach in politics and elections is large. According to Datafolha, 40% of WhatsApp users in the capital of São Paulo use the messenger to find out about topics. Instagram and Facebook record 41% and 38% reading rates for political information, respectively. All platforms belong to Goal.
