The State of Kansas against Pfizer: what does it contest against the pharmaceutical giant
According to Kansas, Pfizer put the health of the state’s residents at risk by claiming that the vaccine did not cause adverse reactions, and by concealing data that linked the administration of the vaccines to cases of myocarditis and complications for pregnant women. Furthermore, the State of Kansas claims that the company “knew” from the beginning that the effectiveness of the vaccines declined rapidly after the administration of a dose, and that the vaccines would not provide significant protection against subsequent variants of Covid-19 . “Pfizer made multiple misleading statements to deceive the public about its vaccine at a time when Americans needed the truth,” said Attorney General Kobach, a Republican, in a statement recalling that Kansas is challenging Pfizer also that he worked with employees of major social media to “censor content critical” of vaccines.
The lawsuit alleges that, starting shortly after the vaccine’s launch in early 2021, Pfizer withheld evidence that the shot was linked to pregnancy complications, including miscarriage, and inflammation within and around the heart, known as myocarditis and pericarditis.
Pfizer defends itself
“The statements made by Pfizer about its Covid-19 vaccine were accurate and based on scientific data,” Pfizer said in a statement, adding that it believes the lawsuit is without merit.
