“We are an integral part of the local social fabric”
The Coca-Cola HBC Italia srl company announces the implementation of an investment of two million euros in the Rionero in Vulture plant, province of Potenza.
Funding intended for improvements in crucial areas such as health and safety, water efficiency and packaging circularity.
The announcement was made in conjunction with the publication of the company’s Sustainability Report: “Let’s celebrate the world of tomorrow together“.
According to the American multinational, this use of money represents a significant commitment “towards the Lucanian territory, with a positive impact on both the economy and the local community“.
The company’s determination, supported by a study by SDA Bocconi University of Milan, finds that the presence of Coca-Cola in Basilicata generates over 200 jobs directly and through related industries. Furthermore, the distribution of resources amounts to almost five million euros, equivalent to 0.04% of the regional gross domestic product.
“These numbers demonstrate– we read in the note– that we are an integral part of the local economy and social fabric. If enabled to operate without penalizing taxes, we will continue to invest and transparently promote our sustainable way of doing business, in factories and along the entire value chain. The investment in Rionero in Vulture is part of a broader strategy to improve the sustainability of its operations. The focus on health and safety aims to guarantee a safe working environment for employees, while water efficiency aims to reduce water consumption, an increasingly precious resource.”
The circularity of the packaging reflects the commitment of Coca Cola in reducing the environmental impact of its products, promoting recycling and the use of sustainable materials.
An operation welcomed kindly by the regional and local authorities and by the territorial communities, who see an opportunity for economic and social development for the entire region.
“With the support of the institutions and the collaboration with the community– write the managers of Coca-Cola HBC Italia– we want to continue to grow and contribute significantly to the well-being of Basilicata”.
It should be remembered that in Basilicata, where the largest water basin in Italy is concentrated, which collects over 30% of natural resources, the plant is located Vulture sources which bottles and distributes Lilia and Sveva waters.
Since 2006 Fonti del Vulture has been part of Coca Cola HBC Italy which launches its products nationally, investing 25 million euros over the years.
