The father of Molina’s neighbor who was admitted to the ICU after being attacked with a knife assures that the accused, already in prison, wanted to take his life
Johan still does not know if he should enter the operating room. This neighbor of Molina awaits in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Morales Meseguer hospital in Murcia for the results of an MRI that will reveal whether or not he should undergo surgery. The affected, 33 years old and with a son of ten, battles in this center with his serious injuries since last Monday he was brutally stabbed allegedly by Alidu S., a young Ghanaian, in the Pío XII square of Molina de Segura . “He lost a lot of blood,” says his father, John Henry Pino, in dismay. “He was just telling me to take care of his son.”
This family of South Americans, settled in Molina for years, usually takes their dog – a pit bull – for a walk around half past five in the afternoon, but heavy rain forced them to delay the walk on Monday. “Around seven in the evening my daughter and I went to the park and he was sitting on a bench about five meters away,” he explains. They decided to release the dog, who was wearing a muzzle, so that he could relieve himself and, according to John, when the dog passed behind the young man, he dealt him several blows to the snout and a strong kick. “My daughter began to cry because she loves him very much,” explains this neighbor – who has appeared as a private prosecution in the case of the hand of Valdés Albistur father’s office. “She made a sign to us on the neck like she was going to kill the dog.”
A call for help
Both John and his daughter Wendy, 25, had come downstairs with what they were wearing and had to borrow a mobile phone from a passing man in order to alert the police. “They told us that there was a lot of trouble with the rain and that they would come as soon as they could,” he recounts. The girl then decided to approach the young man to ask for explanations for his violent behavior. “He gave my daughter a very strong blow to the temple and when I saw that I threw myself on him,” recalls John. This neighbor assures that the defendant, with his height and corpulence, did not take long to throw him to the ground and explains that later they both grabbed some sticks from the garbage and got into a fight.
“Johan was losing a lot of blood and he was just telling me to take care of his son,” says John H. Tino.
Seeing the situation that was developing, Wendy, the youngest daughter, ran home to ask for help from Johan, the older brother, who ran to the park. As this newspaper has learned, the man was armed with a knife, which he handed over to his father upon arrival. “He told him why he hit his sister and they grabbed each other,” explains the victim’s father. In the scuffle, apparently, the weapon fell to the ground and the accused took the opportunity to grab it. He “he hit him so hard that he knocked him to the ground and then he started stabbing him.”
This neighbor of Molina assures that he was able to count up to five stab wounds in one leg, three in an arm and one, especially serious, in the stomach. “He shot to kill him,” says John flatly. “I yelled at him not to kill him, but he kept stabbing him.” This witness assures that her daughter tried in vain to mediate in the aggression but that the accused “also shot her with the knife”.
The 33-year-old victim is awaiting a test to see if he has to be operated on
The attack stopped thanks to the help of a man who had gone out to take out the garbage and who began to throw stones and some bottles at the aggressor. “The police took a long time to come,” laments this neighbor. “My son was losing a lot of blood and he was just telling me to take care of his son.” The defendant, meanwhile, had returned to sit on the bench and was observing the scene. John assures that once the agents arrived at the scene, the arrest was not easy since the defendant tried to defend himself tooth and nail. “They managed to narrow it down to three or four.”
The defendant was taken early yesterday afternoon to the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 5 of Molina de Segura. He faces an alleged crime of attempted murder, several injuries and another of animal abuse, according to sources close to the case. In the middle of the afternoon, the magistrate ordered his entry into provisional prison, understanding that there is a considerable risk of escape. The investigated, with a criminal record, does not have a known address and lacks roots, according to the judge in the car.
