As the industry magazine The Hollywood Reporter reported, the actress died on Monday (August 5) in Santa Monica (USA). Yasutake died at the age of 70 after a long battle with cancer.

In the cult science fiction television series “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (1990 to 1994), the US actress plays Lieutenant Alyssa Ogawa in sickbay when the Enterprise flies through a wormhole. In another episode, Ogawa is on hand when Captain Jean-Luc Picard loses consciousness. Yasutake played in the Star Trek series for four years. She also took on the role in the films “Star Trek: Generations” (1994) and “Star Trek: First Contact” (1996).
Yasutake was part of the cast of Netflix hit “Beef”
Until a few years ago, Patti Yasutake was in front of the camera for the Netflix series “Beef” (2023) as Fumi Nakai, George’s mother. On TV, the Californian native has appeared in “The Closer” and the hospital series “Grey’s Anatomy,” among others.
Yasutake was born in Los Angeles and grew up there, according to her manager. Her full name was Patricia Sue Yasutake and she graduated from UCLA with a degree in theater. Her career began with the theater company East West Players, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
