The Investigative Committee asks for the arrest of the head of the convoy due to a fallen bus in St. Petersburg
In St. Petersburg, investigators detained a new defendant in a criminal case regarding an emergency, as a result of which a bus with passengers drowned in the river. Lenta.ru was informed about this by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.
The head of the Taxi company convoy was charged under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements”). The investigation asks that a preventive measure be chosen for him in the form of detention.
The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed investigators to conduct an inspection of carriers operating on public transport routes at the request of residents of the Vasileostrovsky district. They wrote a complaint to Bastrykin after an emergency involving a bus that fell into the Moika River from the Potseluev Bridge.
The emergency occurred on May 10. According to preliminary information, the driver of the vehicle lost control. As a result, one bus passenger and his driver survived; seven people could not be saved.
On May 12, in St. Petersburg, the court sent the driver of the bus that fell into the Moika to a pre-trial detention center. Later, another criminal case was opened against him for fictitious registration of migrants.
