Military expert Dandykin: Leopard tank can become a museum exhibit
The captured Leopard tank can be used by Russian military engineers to study the features of its optics, military expert, first-rank reserve captain Vasily Dandykin told Lenta.ru. He also admitted that the tank could be used as a museum exhibit.
“Most likely, this tank will become an exhibit at the Patriot Park, where all the trophies will be displayed. In addition, the Germans have fairly good optics and other elements. However, the most modern tanks are not supplied to Ukraine,” the military expert noted.
He added that all recovered equipment is always carefully studied by the military. When there is nothing left to study, it can be sent to training grounds.
“During the Great Patriotic War, captured tanks were shot at firing ranges to see how best to do it. So any technique is first studied, and therefore either used in this way or sent to museums. We already have many similar exhibits. But the enemy is also hunting for our weapons, this is such mutual penetration,” Dandykin explained.
Earlier it was reported that a German Leopard tank was captured by Russian military personnel in the Avdiivka direction. The tank was taken to a repair unit.
