Since its arrival on the Italian market in the now distant 2018, Iliad has managed to gain the appreciation of a large slice of Italian users thanks to aggressive competition in the telephony sector. Well, in the course of these last hours, it has been revealed that Iliad is also ready to launch into the world of fixed telephony with a fiber optic network and an internally developed router.
Going into more detail, as stated, the new fiber Iliad it does not seem to want to settle for the mixture of optical fiber and copper, known as FTTC fiber. Iliad seems to be intending to bring to the market a solution that is 100% fiber to guarantee all its users the maximum possible speed.
In particular, you should start with 1 Gbps download and 300 Mbps download, while in some other lucky cities you can even get to 5 Gbps in download and 700 Mbps in upload, figures that in the eyes of many Italians could appear almost utopian and that would be of great benefit to the players, especially in a context so strongly devoted to streaming or, again, to the download of huge games.
Apparently, Milan, Turin and Bologna will not be included in the latter solution, given that currently the network of the aforementioned inhabited centers does not allow the installation of the equipment that allows to reach this speed.
All this must then be accompanied by the announcement of the aforementioned router, designed entirely by the French company. The product in question is called iliadbox, appears particularly compact, can be hooked to the wall and is equipped with an LCD screen through which you can scan a QR code for quick access to Wi-Fi.
To close everything, of course, we find the costs. Specifically, the offers include unlimited minutes, unlimited internet and the maximum speed available, while as regards prices there is talk of € 15.99 per month for iliad mobile users which will become € 23.99 for all other users. Wanting to continue to follow its philosophy, the company also made it known that these prices will be frozen forever, so as to avoid the risk of price increases that we have become accustomed to with other companies in the Bel Paese.
