In these hours the 44th edition of the Professional Cinema Days of Sorrento is taking place Disney officially presented, during the event, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with a theatrical release date. Along with the famous Marvel characters, many other new stories were also presented, including remakes and new productions.
While recently the famous company presented all the news for Disney + Day, including the return of Marvel’s X-Men, lots of new things arrive at the cinema, including the aforementioned West Side Story, from a screenplay by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tony Kushner. The story, loosely based on Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, is a timeless musical, which tells of the rivalry and love affairs in New York in 1957 and will be released in theaters on December 23rd.
Also presented The King’s Man – The origins, prequel that tells the origins of the famous independent intelligence, many years before the two films starring Colin Firth and Taron Egerton. As already mentioned a few months ago, the film will be released in Italian cinemas starting next January 5th, in order to start the year with lots of action and mystery.
Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro directs The Fair of Illusions – Nightmare Alley, a film where a young and ambitious carousel, able to manipulate people, he will be dating a much more dangerous psychiatrist than him, to kick off a story full of twists and turns. The film will arrive in Italian cinemas starting next January 27th.
Another film presented, to be released on February 3, And Tammy Faye’s Eyes, the extraordinary story of the rise, fall and redemption of telepredicator Tammy Faye Bakker, who managed, together with her husband Jim Bakker, between the seventies and eighties to create the largest religious television network in the world. Jessica Chastain plays the famous singer and presenter, with Andrew Garfield at her side as her husband, in an interpretation that will make a lot of talk.
The next 10 February will arrive instead Murder on the Nile, film based on the 1937 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie, directed by Kenneth Branagh who tells a new adventure of the Belgian investigator Hercule Poirot. While aboard an elegant steamship, the investigator finds himself involved in a search for the killer, which disrupted the honeymoon of a perfect couple.
Out March 10, Red stars Mei Lee, a clumsy and self-confident thirteen year old, torn between remaining a disciplined daughter and the chaos of adolescence, which transforms into a giant red panda when emotionally gripped. A very protective mother certainly does not help the young woman, who will often find herself in embarrassing situations that will bring out this particular side of her.
Finally, the release date in cinemas is official for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Foolsto, which will expand the already expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe even further. The release date of the film, along with a few others, is as follows:
