Larry Hryb, aka good old Major Nelsonstarted a new career in a well-known gaming company, after his long experience at Xbox: it will in fact be the Unity communications managera company focused on creating the well-known development engine.
Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has practically become a historical figure in Xbox, for which he took care of communication and marketing for 20 years, practically from the beginning of Microsoft’s gaming experience, which explains how his exit from the scene, which took place last July, was seen as a rather epochal event.
In recent days, Hryb has announced that he has started a new job at Unity, within the team dedicated to communications, a division that has also become quite important for the company, after the recent controversies that emerged over the engine in question.
A company that needs to recover a bit
“I’m excited to announce that I’ll be joining the Unity Community team,” Hryb reported on X.
“With a long career supporting developers at Xbox, I’m thrilled to once again partner with game developers, leveraging our collective creativity to contribute to the future of gaming and real-time experiences. Let’s make magic happen!”
It seems that the enlistment of Hryb has managed to impart a certain optimistic boost in the developers and could perhaps contribute to regaining a certain trust towards Unity, which after the chaos of 2023 resulting from the new regulations on use and the numerous layoffs in 2024 is currently in a decidedly delicate moment.
