Ali Maali (Al Ain)
The Sharjah Sports Club for Individual Games was crowned champion of the His Highness the President of the State Karate Cup, for the 2023/2024 sports season, for men’s and women’s categories, group teams “Kata and Kumite”, after obtaining the largest number of points in the tournament that took place for the first time hosted by Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium. In the city of Al Ain, with the participation of 91 male and female players, representing 8 clubs, the “King’s” men obtained 33 points, while the women’s team obtained 29 points, in the kata and kumite competitions.
The tournament and coronation ceremony were attended by Major General Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razouqi, President of the Emirati and Asian Federations, Vice President of the International Federation, Colonel Mansour Al Hashimi, Chairman of the Al Ain Sports Club Company’s Management Committee, Khaled Al Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Club, and members of the Karate Federation’s Board of Directors.
The tournament witnessed the return of the Al Ain Club team to competitions in the game again after an absence of 24 years, as the men’s team came in third place in the kumite, with a team that was formed a short time ago to participate in the expensive tournament.
The overall results of the tournament resulted in Sharjah Club winning first place in women’s kata, Sharjah Women’s Sports Club coming in runner-up, and Al Dhaid Club third. In “Men’s Kata,” Sharjah Individual Games Club won first place, Al Dhaid second, Al Ain Club third, and Dubai Police. In the “Women’s Kumite”, the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club won first place, the Sharjah Individual Sports Club took second place, and the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club took third place, along with Al Dhaid.
In the “Men’s Kumite”, the Sharjah Individual Sports Club won first place, the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club came in second place, and Al Ain and Al Dhaid third. The Sharjah Individual Sports Club won the overall excellence shield in the male categories, and Shabab Al Ahli in the female category. The Sharjah Individual Sports Club also won a shield. Overall excellence in the categories of cubs, juniors, youth and men, while Shabab Al-Ahly won the overall excellence shield in the categories of girls, juniors, ladies and ladies.
In terms of distinguished technical staff for the 2023/2024 season, the technical staff of Shabab Al-Ahly Club took first place, Sharjah Individual Games Club came in runner-up, Kalba Ittihad Club came third, and Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club took fourth place.
