The court left the ex-commander of the 58th Army, Major General Ivan Popov, in pre-trial detention center
The military court again left the former commander of the 58th Army, Major General Ivan Popov, in custody. This is reported by TASS.
The investigation filed a request to transfer Popov from the pre-trial detention center to house arrest. The court refused to do this. This issue was considered behind closed doors.
On May 21, Major General Popov was arrested on suspicion of fraud. On May 24, his lawyer already tried to get his client transferred to house arrest, but the request was rejected.
