The toll of Russia’s raid on a hypermarket in Kharkiv, in the north-east of Ukraine, worsens, with the governor of the region Oleh Syniehubov announcing that the victims have risen to 11, while at least 40 are injured.
Yesterday Russia attacked the store, claiming that Ukraine had hidden a cache of weapons in the store. “In Kharkiv, the tactic of human shields is used – they [gli ucraini] they set up a military camp and a command post in a shopping center, which was discovered by our intelligence services,” state news agency Tass wrote, citing the Russian leadership.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that around 200 people were in the hypermarket at the time of the attack.
